Gwen's Notes: Even if you think you know everything you need to know about Winnie the Pooh from the Disney cartoons, you MUST read the books. If you have kids, read a story aloud to them at a time. If you don't, they're still worth a read to yourself! You'll note that I recommend reading these books at "Level 2" which might strike you as odd at first. However, Winnie the Pooh is a series of short stories and I strongly recommend reading them as such, a story at a time, rather than in long haul "level 3" marathon sessions.

Description:
In 1926, Winnie-the-Pooh, a collection of stories about a rather stout, somewhat confused bear, was published in England and America. The enchanting tales of Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Christopher Robin, and the others were an immediate success, and firmly established A.A. Milne, already an acclaimed dramatist, as a major author of children's books. Winnie-the-Pooh was followed in 1928 by a second collection, The House At Pooh Corner, which continued the adventures from the Hundred Acre Wood and introduced bouncy, lovable Tigger.

We bought all four of AA Milne's Pooh books for Jadon's birthday. I had checked out two of them a few months ago from the Library and he enjoyed listening to them. Come Feb 1st, we will have them on hand for nightly readings. (sadly enough the wife doesn't think that I do the voices right...something about an awesome voice actor dad...sigh)

Well daddy always said he never measured up to Great Uncle Dean's Pooh voices so we are all always following someone! The point is the stories live on. I'll be doing the same for my kids.
